soft hetero

Despite not being gay and not being that hard, Hard Gay is still the king (or queen) of Japanese game shows. The hip-thrusting hetero has been strutting his stuff on television screens for well over a year, quite a surprise for a nation where more often than not, today's fad is tomorrows.....er........not-fad.

Hard Gay definitely looks like he's in for the long haul. Apparently he's particularly popular with oba-sans and bi-sexual salarymen, some of whom are wearing Hard Gay's racy attire under their own bland, dark blue suits.

It's not easy to put your finger on the thing that makes Hard Gay so popular, although some OL's would certainly like to.

Hard Gay's one of those things that's funny and you don't know why. Me and a couple of mates watched a collection of his appearances recently, and we laughed until we cried. He is truly the Hardest of Gays. FUUUU~!

He's stuck with the character, though. These Japanese stars have to stick with it once they've started, from what I can tell. My girlfriend likes him, for what that's worth.

I think he's amusing simply because he has broken the mould. Too many TV show (make that all) rely on the tired old manzai routine for comedy but here is a guy who has created something new and fresh. His only problem, as under the radar said, is what else can he now fuuuuu, sorry, do?

He reminds me a little of the hypnotist character from “Survival Style 5+” for some reason

I could'nt stand lazer ramon HG when he first appeared on tv. The fact that he was and is obviously not gay while flaunting himself as a stud in studded leather was totally idiotic. Then after listening to some fof the comments that flew machine gun style out of his mouth I started to realize that there was something to this guy, besides the bulge in his shorts. His quips are fast and accurate and his attire and anaonimity, allow him to get away with things other "talento" can't touch.

I love Hard Gay as much as the next guy (hmm... that didn't sound right...) but what freaks me out a little is how popular he seems to be with kids!

Did you see the London Hearts Christmas special where HG and Atsushi from London Hearts went door to door offering a gift each to the child of the house, and the parents had to choose from whom they would rather accept the gift? Hilarious! He was dressed in a red HG outfit, and doing his routine. HG actually got the most approvals from parents, unbelievable! Then they returned on Christmas morning to see what the gifts were; the London Hearts guy's gift was a Nintendo DS and HG's gift was an HG outfit!!

HG is a 'one joke' character, which means he wont be around all that long, and all will wonder how he was ever funny in the first place...

Just ask that "GETZ" guy from about 2 yrs ago.
