spectacularly unspectacular!

I like a spectacular and imaginative fireworks display as much as the next man, and so it was with high expectations that I made my way to the Sky Building in Osaka last night to see in the New Year with my fellow Osakans. On the stroke of midnight, we all cheered and were then subjected to a rather disappointing display, spectacular only in its unspectacularness. An awkward silence fell upon the crowd. A red firework made a fizzling noise. Somebody coughed. Another sneezed. Still, top marks for trying!

Came via Tokyo Girl to see the 'fireworks' *singger*. I live in Auckland and we don't bother as we know Sidney will just put us to shame. Think you did quite well myself. LOL

New Year's could hardly be more boring than it is in Japan. It is best to leave the country before December 31.

The yawnig was particually inpressive in that is showed just how far a Japanese mouth can stretch.
I hope she didn't get lock-jaw.
