bye bye CoolBiz
As cooler autumnal winds blow in, the office workers of Japan are waving goodbye to CoolBiz.
Koizumi's idea to save on energy bills may have worked, but clothing bills rocketed instead. The shops are now rubbing their hands together in expectation of another retail bonanza as the government is now pushing WarmBiz. They want office workers to wear warm clothes and in turn, refrain from whacking up the heaters.
Many shops are already parading their WarmBiz outfits. Below is a picture of Osaka salaryman Yuji Sakamoto wearing his recent purchase from Uniqlo.
