barcode news
An extraordinarily lovely piece of software has recently been released by Google. It’s called Google Earth and allows you to control a camera high above our planet, to pick a location and then to zoom in. It uses satellite imagery to show things in incredible detail. The quality is astonishing.
There’s also a great feature where if you type in the name of any salaryman who has a barcode, the camera will zoom in to within a few inches of his head. You can then click on the “What’s He Worth?” button and Google will scan the barcode and give you a price. I just tried it out. I zoomed in on Yukifumi Sakamoto who lives and works in Nagoya. He was worth a paltry 300 yen.
